Nine people awoke Saturday morning to discover their cars had tires slashed and windows smashed out following an overnight vandalism spree, police said.

Man sentenced in LA for hit-and-run death

LOS ANGELES—A 38-year-old man has been sentenced to nine years in state prison for the hit-and-run death of an elderly Montebello woman three years ago.David Louis Loera was convicted in August of one count each of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and leaving the scene of an accident.
